Here are first pictures of our latest project, a large robe cabinet for All Saints Church in our nearest town, Leek. It will be the largest one piece project ever for us, and we are having to make it dismantleable to get it out of the workshop. The internals will be made from Canadian Red Cedar and consist of two columns of four drawers behind locking doors.
Here Rory has just dry-assembled the first door frame, with most of the main frame parts in front, ready to assemble.
This is the back frame that will have solid oak panels in. The moulding on the face of all the rails will match the organ case, next to where the cabinet will be sitting.
Here is the carcase, roughly 36” tall and deep, and 8 feet long. We are enjoying the challenge and looking forward to seeing it fully built up.
Keep a look out for progress reports in the following days.
