Below is a piece we have just finished for a customer to his specification in oak.

Oak pot dresser without finish

This one is larger at 54” x 18” x 27” and has 3 drawers and a shelf below, traditionally for storing  larger pots that wouldn’t fit in cupboards, hence the name. This is priced at £975

Hall table nearly ready for showroom

It will be in the showroom from the 8th June priced at £575 and finished in light oak stain, same colour as the right hand one which has been made for a customer.

Behind the hall tables are the latest batch of footstools which have just arrived in the showroom priced at £74 each.

Natural oak drinks cabinet

The front doors open to reveal a full depth bottom shelf for bottles etc and a half depth top shelf for glasses. The top doors fold back on themselves either to a horizontal position or will rest vertically if space is tight, to expose a serving surface and another bottle store.

'Waterfall ' oak bookcase

Making the most of a particularly clean batch of timber we have been able to match all the timber colour and grain beautifully to create a very attractive and practical item of storage furniture. With fixed shelves and spaces of 15”, 13”, 11” and a 7” side above the top shelf, it offers useful space for larger books or a combination of book and display space.

The outside dimensions are 32” x 54” x 15” and the back is fitted with random width t & g boards, which are used to get the best out of the available timber but also help to give the piece a hand made identity. It’s almost a pity someone will probably buy it and fill it with books straight away!

The fan is made painstakingly from 22 wedges of oak which are alternately figured ‘quarter’  grain and crown grain to give a subtle but noticable  variation  between each wedge.

This design can be made as a headboard or incorporated into a complete bed design. They are definitely a bespoke item so please call us at the workshop if you would like to discuss a commission.  01298 84467

The spec includes  genuine leaded lights which are illuminated from within and several panels of carving. The finished item is so big that we have difficulty getting a good picture of it!  It measures 78” x 86” high and is priced at £4999 with this level of specification. The order also includes a drinks cabinet of ingenious design with folding, hingeing top doors that open to reveal a serving area and space for bottles at the back, accessed from above, while the front doors conceal a shelf for glasses and a bottom shelf for more bottles

Once the top doors are folded back you can see how effective this unit is as an all in one self-contained drinks storing and serving unit.

This one measures 36”h x 32”w x 17”d and is priced at £1495. We are so pleased with the design[all the work of our customer] that we are hoping to make one for the showroom. Keep an eye out for news on that if you would like to view one.

When it arrived it looked as though it had been blown up with TNT.

With minimal damage to the packaging it was not obvious from the outside that there was any damage inside. So my customer signed for it. There is no way she could or would inflict this damage. It appears to have been dropped from five feet up onto a hard surface. Yet because it was signed for TNT will not even listen to our protests or requests for compensation. I would be embarrassed to behave in such a way!

The warning is to always sign for your parcel as unchecked if you don’t open it first!

I have just finished making a replacement table for my very patient customer. I haven’t finished with TNT yet!
