Wooden Cheese Trophies
Even after 20 years making furniture I can’t escape my links to the cheese industry. From a previous life grading Blue Stilton to my current location in a former cheese factory at Reapsmoor. Once a year I find myself with the task of designing and making a group of trophies for the Dairy section of the Great Yorkshire Show. This provides an enjoyable distraction from furniture making, with the emphasis being on fine detail and choosing attractive timbers for the base plates.
These trophies from 2006 have burr field maple bases with various timbers used for the other parts.
Most examples of our furniture can be bought from the showroom or ordered, but if you want one of these you’ll have to make something lovely with milk and enter the Great Yorkshire Show!
